What is it that you do for your own mental health?
We hung out with Aaron De Jong, founder of Movement108 to explore this question as we meandered through Granville Island–his happy place. Our local Vancouver evening felt complete with local teas in hand, and some good people watching.

So, Aaron what is it that you do for your own mental health?
“I have an overactive mind and I think that is a strength of mine but it will limit how I will experience myself, in terms of how that will sometimes turn into negative self talk, sometimes I’ll make myself too busy, and that comes out in a frequency at the end of the day that I need to kind of get rid of, or shift out of…
…When I walk down to Granville Island, I’ll often just ditch my phone and take my time, go order a tea, and then I’ll either just like, peruse the shops or listen to a busker. I just listen to my thoughts and everything settles. And by the time I leave, I’m feeling like a more grounded version of myself, with clearer thoughts. I’m lighter going home, having broken up the busyness of my brain into a place where I can just be authentically relaxed, and…be?”
