Food for Thought - A Taste Experience & Counselling Conversation

Food for Thought - A Taste Experience & Counselling Conversation

Posted on

Join the WIRTH team and our talented friend, lululemon ambassador and unbelievable chef Meesh Coles for what's gonna be an awesome event with a bit of a food theme!

On Thursday, January 30th, we'll gather together to celebrate connection, community, share a meal and have a conversation on the impact of food on mental health, all the while garnering a deeper sense of community. Ultimately, this event is to open up the conversation about our mental health, gather insight from a brilliant counsellor, and of course... have a great time!

The evening's food will be curated by Meesh Coles. She'll be putting together plant-based food boards full of pomegranates, chocolate, citrus, crackers, home-made dips and more! For dessert we've got donuts from Cartems, brews from Stanley Park BrewingWize Vodka Soda providing some bubbly & Kombucha from our good friends at Hoochy 'Booch.

Brian Williams a local counsellor, will lead the evening's conversation with music performed by iamtheliving an amazing local artist.

iamtheliving hails from Peckham, South East London, United Kingdom but now resides in Vancouver, Canada. His musical background boasts a wealth of diverse experience, a distinct voice that stands alone, and the ability to create music that speaks volumes. His strength lies in his art; singer, songwriter, visionary, and all-round performer, his stage presence and creative drive echo many great artists who have come before him.

Aside from music, health and overall well-being are what drives his life. The Living strives to achieve optimal health through meditation; living a raw-food, fruitarian lifestyle; spending as much time outdoors as he can; practicing calisthenics; and surrounding himself with positive people.

Brian Dean Williams is a local registered clinical counsellor and meditation teacher. Brian came into the helping professions due to his own lived experience with suffering. For over 15 years, Brian did frontline service work with homelessness, severe mental health, and substance misuse, including in the downtown eastside. He now has a thriving private practice in Gastown, where he specializes in Buddhist psychology and narrative therapy. When not at work, Brian parents, gardens, bikes, trail runs, and does obstacle course racing. www.briandeanwilliams.com
