Think about the sheer amount of cheap, mass produced corporate swag that gets made every year. Now think about how much of it actually gets worn or used long-term by the people receiving it. Chances are, it's not much.
Instead, it gets forgotten in the back of a closet, donated, or thrown away - contributing to the over 11 million tons of textile waste sent to landfills each year in the U.S. alone.
What was once a well intentioned gift becomes a wasteful, missed opportunity for deeper connection and impact.
The best companies are realizing that it doesn't need to be this way. They're opting to break the cycle of meaningless swag by asking a simple question: how can we ensure our team actually keeps their swag and feels proud to wear it?
It starts with choosing pieces that carry more meaning. Swag that feels considered, not just branded.
That's where Wirth comes in.
Thoughtful by Design
We offer thoughtfully made, customizable quality hats that come with a mission to expand accessibility to mental health support. With every hat sold, 100% of proceeds go towards funding for people who cannot afford therapy. To this day, we've helped sponsor over 9,200 therapy sessions, proving that corporate swag can have real, lasting impact when chosen with care.
And that impact doesn't stop when it's given. When something is made well, looks good and is rooted in meaning, people feel connected to it. They wear it, they keep it, it becomes part of their day-to-day and what's kept longer is far less likely to end up in a landfill.
More Than a Hat
Wirth is grounded in the idea that what we wear can reflect how we care for ourselves and others. It offers a gentle reminder to nurture self-worth while also creating safety and support for individuals seeking mental health resources.
More than a hat, it's a token of care and a starting point for real conversations around mental health at work.
Discussions That Destigmatize
Wirth Talks, led by our co-founder Ben Miller, brings the powerful story behind Wirth directly to your workplace. Not only does it create space for meaningful conversations around mental health, but it also promotes a culture of care.
The Wirth Story
Wirth was founded in honour of Jakob Wirth, a beloved friend and hat enthusiast who tragically lost his life in 2014. To honour his memory, co-founder Ben Miller created 25 hats for close friends and family.
Years later, Wirth Hats was born as a tribute to Jakob and others lost to suicide—a reminder that we are never alone. Hear the full story from Ben here.
What started as a gesture of remembrance has grown into a movement that fuels mental health advocacy and open conversation through every hat sold.
